Description
The farm holiday resort Le Due Palme is a small structure, immersed in the green, an island of peace, just a few minutes from the sea.
It was born some years ago with the idea of the owner to use the existing structures on the farm, owned by the family Galletti since ever.
The farm holiday is situated in Schiopparello, at 7 km from Portoferraio, the major town and harbour of the island and a very interesting example of civil and military architecture of the 15. century, thanks to the Medici family. The sea is around 800 m. away, with a nice beach of sand and small pebbles, with shaded parts and and large car parking. But the beauty of a holiday on the island is the possibility to change beach every day, and our farm is a perfect departure point, because in only a few minutes you can reach tenth of other sandy beaches, like Lido, Felcaio, Lacona and the white rock beaches of the northern coast.
The owners, with the help of their family, manage directly the farm, and the guests are lodged in small houses, surrounded by the green, with independent entrance and private outside spaces. All interiors are gracious and furnished with taste.
Most of the visitors think of Elba only during the summer, but in reality seasons like autumn and spring are beautiful and allow to profit more from the secrets and fascination of the island, the perfumes, the slow mediterranean rhytm, the unforgettable views and this mixture of salt and earth of this small world surrounded by water.
Our farm produces oil and honey. Fabrizio, the owner of the farm, got in heritage, not only the farm, but also numerous olive trees, and during the years has himself planted numerous others, all of them giving fruits. The olives are hand picked and are pressed nearly immediately in order to guarantee the highest quality oil.
The so obtained oil is “extra virgin olive oil”, of a beautiful golden colour, an acidity of only 0,1% and a perfume that recalls the bushes and vegetation of the mediterranean macchia. The oil is then stored in stainless steel recipients to insure hygiene and a natural decanting.
If olive oil is the tradition of the farm, the honey is the passion.
Our honey “1000 flowers” has the subtle perfume of the various and numerous plants and flowers of the farm and of all the vegetation growing on the hills that surround the farm, allowing the bees to be active all year round.
The guests of our farm have at their disposition our private tennis court, a few minutes away lies a golf with 9 wholes (the largest of the island), two riding centers, a well known sailing school, a small harbour to attack boats, a windsurf school, a diving center and numerous trail ideal for walking or mountain-bike excursions.
On request we can organize excursions with the mountain-bike, with the kayak, or trekking with qualified guides.
The thermal baths of San Giovanni are just 3 km. far away.
